Mother Teresa

My Sketch i did in the computer of Mother Teresa, who said the following...

"We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature - trees, flowers, grass- grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence... We need silence to be able to touch souls."

Sketch of Mark Twain

This is a computer sketch I did of Mark Twain who said...

"There is no such thing as a new idea. It is impossible. We simply take a lot of old ideas and put them into a sort of mental kaleidoscope. We give them a turn and they make new and curious combinations. We keep on turning and making new combinations indefinitely; but they are the same old pieces of colored glass that have been in use through all the ages."

Water on the Rocks

I am an abstract painter, as my main medium of choice, so the abstract forms and shapes I found through the camera lens became a strong interest. This waterscape photography was taken in the streams and rivers around different parts of Tennessee. The artwork captures the shapes and patterns that the naked eye cannot see. Every piece is unique and cannot be reproduced; as a fine artist, I strive to produce true artwork with my photography by capturing a moment in time and stopping it to observe the forms, colors and composition. This series portrays the beauty of a moment.for more information and to see more of this series go to:

Recent Artwork

This is some artwork that I have recently been working on. They are works that deal with etherial spaces and the tension between what is coming forward and what is going back in space. Also bringing in some of the shapes and colors in molds and mildews and decay, which are things I am addressing in my next big series called Beauty in the Breakdown. (see the post on mold for more work in this series).

Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep.

It is better to have enough ideas for some of them to be wrong, than to be always right byhaving no ideas at all.

Natures Finest

This is some of my nature photography that is based on the idea that what occurs naturally creates some of the best compositions and designs ever.

Rooted Man

This shoot was based on the idea of humans being pulled from the soil like carrots or other rooted plants we pull from the earth. to achieve this look Zach McDonald used real roots, in the hair and painted the skin with a thick layer of charcoal powder and water to give that raw mineral look.

This is a series I did a while back dealing with the colors and glasslike quality of ice. The colors are the natural colors and have been enhanced to bring the true bold colors out.

Jelly Jam

The title of this clip is "Jelly Jam" and it deals with the unique movements of the quiet underwater life of jellyfish in contrast with the sounds of a highly trafficked city street.

Harber Wedding

I had the honor of designing and decorating the wedding of Neil and Amelia Harber, who were married last year in Savannah, Georgia.  Their wedding was held in a small chapel outside the city and their reception took place at Vic's on the River

The wedding was featured in Georgia's Knot Magazine.
